The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTAs) is no stranger to famous guests, but perhaps the most notable attendee was the Prince of Wales and future King of England, who appeared somber as he discussed his wife’s health.

Prince William’s wife of 13 years, Kate Middleton, recently had abdominal surgery at The London Clinic for reasons that have not been disclosed, and Lady Diana Spencer’s son has no intention of revealing these reasons to the public.

While the Royal Family typically keeps health matters private, there is a notable contrast with King Charles III, who was very open about his own prostate surgery and subsequent unrelated cancer diagnosis.

“I’ve seen fewer films than ever,” Prince William remarked regarding his movie-watching habits. “With my wife, it’s been a bit… But I hope we catch up; I’ll make my list tonight.”

So, why all the secrecy?

Middleton may simply prefer to keep her private matters out of the public eye, a reasonable request that many people make. However, this hasn’t stopped speculation and questions.
